How To Program Alltel PhoneHow To Program Alltel Phone

I have an Alltel IPhone 5s. I purchased it the other day as an iPod. How ever I am now using it on straight talk. What I did was call Att. Told them I have an Alltel phone.

I do lot have aervice with att. The website said it wasn't an Att phone and wouldn't give me the code. I told them the FCC says they can't refuse to unlock my phone. Since att owns alltel. I was put on hold. And then they unlocked it for me.

Now I'm using this old alltel iPhone 5s on straight talk. I also put in a friends att sim and it worked fine too. Oh and I got 4g on it.

Hello friends - Activated my 7135 the other day, and have been making several 'modifications' to it to suit my needs. As always, this web site is more than helpful! Here's a question that's kind of confusing me.

This 7135 was branded with the Verizon logo, and when I activated it under Alltel, everything works fine, but I think there's a roaming issue. When I do a *228 and try to update the PRL with Alltel, I get the 'Welcome to Verizon Wireless over-the-air programming.'

First of all stop using your phone now unless you are on a nationwide plan. You need to have your phone programmed for alltel. It isn't because of the prl that you. To switch your phone from the Alltel network to another carrier, you'd need to switch out the network-specific chip in the battery compartment. If your phone is locked, it can't take calls with a different carrier's chip. You'd need an unlock code to unlock the phone first. This is a separate matter from the.

I'm guessing this is because the phone has the Verizon PRL listed stored in the phone instead of the Alltel one and its using Verizon towers and not Alltel ones. My question is - it seems that my phone, because of the PRL it currently has, is going to search and use Verizon towers first before Alltel towers (if at all) if I understand this PRL thing right. Is there an easy way to pick up a signal from an Alltel tower near me so that I can update the PRL list, or am I going to have to take this thing into a store and have the techs.

Update it for me? I don't know if the roaming thing has anything to do with this, but interestingly enough, my status LED that usually blinks green/amber/read is doing a whole lot of nothing, and I'm wondering if this PRL issue has something to do with it. Thanks for the help! First of all stop using your phone now unless you are on a nationwide plan. You need to have your phone programmed for alltel.

It isn't because of the prl that you are getting this message it's because you have the wrong sid. Giovanni Allevi Panic Pdf Merge there. If you aren't sure what i am talking about then you need to take it to a retail store and either get them to program it or program it yourself. I have had alot of success with alltel's 800 number tech support. They are usually very helpful and friendly if you act like you know what you are talking about. If you don't have any luck with a retail store let me know and i can walk you through it. But like i said stop using your phone unless you are on a nationwide plan or you will get charged lots of money that they don't have to credit off of your account and they know it.

Thanks for the helpful responses. Ravenloft Dm Screen Pdf. I checked my phone out, and according to what the techie guy had me put in when I first programmed my phone, I have 240 as my Home SID. Something that's weird though - he gave me a strange number to put in the 'phone number' field - it's some other number; not my cell. My cell number is in the 'Directory Number' field - is that correct?

Mike, I tried your programming codes - *22801 didn't work, and *22802 got me on Sprint's activation line! Not exactly sure why that is. My problem is that in my 'home area', there isn't an actual Alltel tower near me - I'm using a Verizon tower, so I don't know if that affects how my activation codes will work.

I'm on Alltel's nation-wide plan, and they assured me that this isn't a huge issue as they contract with Verizon anway, but I still want to have the proper roaming list in there and not something different. How can I check this SID to ensure that it's correct - does Alltel list them on a web site somewhere that I can verify that what the techie guy on the phone gave me is right? Thanks for the help!

Did you port your number over from another carrier? If so, your number will be the 'MDN' or 'directory' number, and some other number that Alltel generated will be the 'MIN' number. That is because local number portability works by actually assigning you a new number but kind of masking over it with your old one. Over the air (OTA) programming will not work without being on a tower owned by your carrier, no matter what you do. To find the SID, you're going to have to find an Alltel employee that will give it to you.
