The basketball goal is a pretty good system. The instructions are clear enough and pretty simple to follow. However, they do have “alerts” and other notifications not in the regular flow of the step by step plan, and it can cause you to miss something if you are not careful. I think this is a good purchase for the price and anticipate it lasting a long time. Here are a few tips to make your installation a better experience. (these tips are different than the instruction booklet) 1.We used 750lbs of concrete to secure the goal including the 100lbs in the pole itself. 2.We tried to 'slam' the poles together with no luck like MANY other fine people did with the same results.
We had bent lips (yes, we used a block of wood) on both side of the top and middle pole portions as we tried to pound them together. We tried this for about 10 minutes and decided it was stupid to continue. Bypass Cpanel License Crack more.
We were about 2 inches shy of the mark for the full 5 inches of overlap suggested in the plans. Then I had a LIGHTBULB moment and figured out how to get the poles together super easy!
Here is the magic formula to putting the 3 poles together a.Get 4 ratchet straps each 16' long b.Run 2 separate straps on two opposing sides of the top and middle sections of the pole. This will give you two separate ratchet straps running parallel to each other not connected to each other but connected in a circle running completely through the inside and back to itself at the ratchet. C.Tighten each side down simultaneously until you have a lot of tension on both sides. D.Once you have enough tension just grab the straps and use them as handles to slam the poles on the board. This trick will work in about 3 slams onto the scrap board. (If you want to, you can add WD-40 to the poles to allow the poles to slide easily) e.This works for the bottom pole as well.
You just have to use 2 straps (32’ total) to go all the way thru all three sections. 3.Once the three poles are put together insert the rebar into the pole sleeve (already in the ground and then the three pole section into the sleeve as well.
4. Jim Schmitz Olympic Style Weightlifting Program Design. Once the poles are in the sleeve and upright THEN fill with concrete. Rated 5 out of 5 by Diditmyself from Great Hardware Value This was a gift for my son's 13th birthday to replace a 20yr old Lifetime in-ground system.
Simple assembly and very well made. Surprised by the high quality compared to the price.excellent value from Academy! Installed next to our driveway without a problem. Skip the plastic ground sleeve (when will you ever remove it anyway and where do you rent a crane?). Assemble the bottom and middle pole and simply cement into the ground and be sure to fill most of the pole itself to prevent excessive wobble. A magnetic level is a must have!
Finish assembly of the backboard components on the top pole while the cement dries. Next day simply slide on the completed backboard/top pole assembly and you're done! Only negative was the unit was packed for store display and not packaged to endure shipping. Backboard and bumpers arrived broken. Excellent Customer Service from Academy and Spalding who shipped replacement parts in a week. If it was packaged correctly for shipping, they would have happier customers and less product loss!
